Do I have to be a member of the church to attend services?
Everyone is welcome at MCC El Paso! We mean it. Everyone who wants to attend is welcome to do so. In fact, you can come to as many services as you like, or even participate in events, without being a member of the MCC of El Paso, any MCC church, or any church at all. We call people like this "friends" of the church. You can attend MCC of El Paso services in addition to any other church you'd like to as well.
Is this church only for gay or LGBTQQ2SIAA people?
Everyone is welcome at MCC El Paso! We mean it. We strive to enjoy a truly open and affirming environment to all who wish to worship with us. We have a special ministry to members of the Queer community. And folks who are interested in social justice issues, such as economic justice, racial justice, and human rights often feel especially at home at the MCC. We have a "come as you are" invitation open to all. We seek to reflect God's love to every one of God's children. All are welcome. We mean it!
What denomination does MCC El Paso belong to?

How do I become a member?
Let the pastor or a board member know of your interest before or after worship. We will coordinate a time which is convenient to you to attend a short class on the history of our denomination, our church, the governance of our denomination and our church, the ministries at the church, and ways to share your gifts, talents and finances.
What is an open communion?
MCC's concept of an open communion originated with our founder, Rev. Troy Perry, who believed that the table set by Jesus is for all people, regardless. Therefore, you do not have to be member of this church, or any church, to participate. All that is required is the understanding that the God who loves you, invites you. We too invite you to come as you choose, to come as you are. All MCC churches offer communion weekly to share God's table of love.
